2018年10月30日，苹果在纽约发布第三代iPad Pro。第三代iPad Pro采用全新设计，屏幕大小为11英寸及12.9英寸，使用全面屏、面容ID、类似iPad第一代的硬朗外观、USB-C接口与A12X仿生处理器，存储空间最高达到1TB，是第一款提供1TB配置的iOS设备。此外，Apple Pencil与Smart Keyboard也被更新到第2代。

2020年3月18日，苹果在官网发布第四代iPad Pro，包括iPad Pro 11英寸（第2代）及iPad Pro 12.9英寸（第4代）[4][5]。

第四代iPad Pro与上一任屏幕尺寸以及配色保持一致。另外，使用全面屏、面容ID、双摄模块（1200万广角+1000万超广角）、激光雷达模块、USB-C接口与A12Z仿生处理器，存储空间最高达到1TB。此外，Smart Keyboard也被更新到第3代，新一代Magic Keyboard配备有背光键盘和触控板。[6]

第四代iPad Pro采用Apple A12Z处理器，而非已在iPhone 11使用的Apple A13系列。这也是第一款以Z作后缀的处理器型号，基准测试显示A12Z的CPU性能与上代A12X大致相同。GPU方面，上代A12X拥有八核心，但其中一个被屏蔽，只以七核心运作，A12Z则激活了全部八个核心，性能也提高了约8%[7]此外，所有型号的存储器都升级为6GB。

2021年4月21日（凌晨1点），苹果在官网发布第五代iPad Pro，包括iPad Pro 11英寸（第3代）及iPad Pro 12.9英寸（第5代）。

第一代Apple Pencil随第一代iPad Pro推出，其顶端的磁性护盖内有闪电接头，可为 Apple Pencil 充电。Apple Pencil具压力感应器及两个斜度感应器，带来真实书写触感。[11]
