第六代Surface系列已全部更新为英特尔第八代Kaby Lake Refresh Core-i5和Core-i7 CPU。提供8或16GB RAM，128GB，256GB，512GB或1TB固态存储，包括商用和消费者版本。商用版本预装了Windows 10 Pro，而消费者版本预装了Windows 10 Home。

Surface Pro 6上的接口与前几代产品相同，只有一个Surface Connect，一个USB 3.0 Type-A，一个Mini DisplayPort，一个3.5mm耳机插孔和一个microSD读卡器。与Surface Go不同，Surface Pro 6没有USB-C接口。它的底部有一个用于连接Surface键盘盖的磁针端口，该端口与之前的Surface Pro型号完全相同^[2]。

Surface Pro 6的所有消费者配置都预装了64位Windows 10 Home。商用版本则预装了Windows 10 Pro。两者都包括Microsoft Office 365的30天试用版。
