StarOffice，是已不再更新的专有著作权办公软件包。其源自Star Division公司于1985年开发的StarWriter，该公司后来在1999年8月由Sun微系统收购。该软件包的源代码于2000年7月公开，派生出一个自由开放的开源办公软件，叫作OpenOffice.org；StarOffice的后继版本皆基于OpenOffice.org，并带有另外的专有组件。[1]
2010年，甲骨文收购SUN公司，随后软件更名为Oracle Open Office。
2011年4月，甲骨文公司宣布停止支持Oracle Open Office，以使OpenOffice.org成为“纯粹的基于社区的项目”。[2][3]6月将OpenOffice.org捐给Apache软件基金会，后者将其改名为Apache OpenOffice继续开发。而OpenOffice社群成员出走建立分支LibreOffice。
东亚发行的版本称作StarSuite，除具与StarOffice相同功能外，也包含对简体中文、繁体中文、日语、韩国语的语言与字体支持。

Oracle Open Office[编辑]
Oracle于2010年1月收购Sun，不久将StarOffice更名为Oracle Open Office。[4]
2010年12月15日Oracle发布Oracle Open Office 3.3，基于OpenOffice.org 3.3 beta，还有web版本Oracle Cloud Office。[5][6]该包分成两个版本，分别以39欧元和49.95欧元销售。[6]
