RStudio是为R语言设计的一种跨平台集成开发环境。其特色包括可客制化的软件套件视觉化界面[4]与同团队开发的一系列数据可视化与出版工具。[5][6][7][8]RStudio有免费的自由软件版本及收费的专业版本，并分为在本地电脑上执行的桌面版和与在服务器上执行而可由浏览器连接后使用的服务器版。[9][10]RStudio主要基于Java、C++以及少量的JavaScript，而它的图形用户界面则基于Qt。[3] RStudio的第一个公开测试版本由RStudio公司于2011年发布，正式版则在2016年11月推出。[1][11]目前的最新版本为2018年10月更新的1.1版。2018年4月，RStudio宣布与Ursa Labs展开行政与营运双方面的合作，目标是基于Apache Arrow建立一个通用性的数据科学运行时系统，希望整合R语言、Python、Julia等，并使其执行期使用的资料能够即时地互通。[12]
