街道

英国传统街道

街道（英语：Street），为“街”与“道”的合称，是道路的一种，但重点指城镇中的道路，街道的特点是两边有连续的建筑物。

特点

多设置在人流与经济略有小发达的中小型城镇，行人与行车多共用同一条道路，最多会划设双向通行分道线，部分街道则没有划设双向分行线。

依城镇原属县级城市或市级城市，街道规格有所差异，县级城市街道大多无分开行人或行车分道的分行区划，而房屋几乎临路而建，行人与行车较常共用通行。市级城市的街道仅有商贸交流较发达的路段，有规划行人与行车分道而行的道路区划，而房屋建筑也会注重行人与行车通勤需求做规划考量，而人流或车流较不频繁的街道仍保持临路而建习惯。

随着经济发达成长，选择以两轮的机车或四轮的汽车代步的人数大幅增长，街道原有为行人与行车通行同时需求难以应对行车通行需求过度挤兑行人通行需求，衍生出许多交通需求失衡问题。

其他

香港常见道路名多以“街”、“道”结尾，而中国大陆道路名多以“路”、“大道”结尾，“街”、“巷”、“里”、“弄”、“道”、“通”则较少见或是地域性常见。

在城市规划学领域，街道也被看做建筑围合中的一个负空间。
