武竹（学名：Asparagus aethiopicus or Asparagus sprengeri）又名天冬草、悦景山草、垂叶武竹，亦有植物学家把它分类为非洲天门冬的亚种（Asparagus densiflorus sprengeri）。多年生草本植物[1]。
多年生常绿草本植物，它的块根和茎丛生，属于蔓性植物。有刺状的基部，叶退化成鳞片状。总状花序，有香气的小花1～3朵簇生，呈淡红色至白色。果实为鲜红色球形浆果。
武竹的叶形状奇特，红色果实鲜艳诱人，小巧玲珑，颇具观赏性，可作盆栽观赏，也常作为插花叶材。
武竹还是特种蔬菜。现代研究分析其含天冬素、甾体皂苷、糖醛衍生物等成分。可以天冬草为原料，制作多种滋养美食，常食对人体十分有益。
