埃地语是中南半岛埃地族的母语，其使用范围位于越南南部多乐省，在邻近的嘉莱省和富安省也有分布。在柬埔寨可能也有一定数量的使用者。
埃地语在语言学上被归类为马来－波利尼西亚语族的占语群，与占语的关系十分密切。埃地语总共有9种方言。
