靈魂樂（英語：Soul music），又稱騷靈樂、騷靈音樂，是一種流行音樂流派，發源於20世紀50年代末至60年代初美國各地的非裔美國人（英語：African-American culture）社區（英語：African-American neighborhood）。[2]靈魂樂的重要特徵是其節奏朗朗上口，並輔以拍手和即興的肢體動作。其他特點包括主唱和伴唱之間的呼應、特別緊繃的聲樂以及偶爾的即興添加、旋轉和輔助聲音。[3]靈魂樂以反映非裔美國人的身份認同和強調非裔美國文化的重要性而聞名。

靈魂樂的根源在於非裔美國福音音樂和節奏藍調，[4]並主要融合了福音、節奏藍調和爵士樂的元素。[5]這一音樂類型起源於權力鬥爭，旨在提高美國黑人對其非洲血統的認識，因為新出現的意識導致了以身為黑人為榮的音樂的創作。[6][7]靈魂樂成為一種流行的舞蹈和聆聽方式，在民權運動期間，摩城、大西洋和斯塔克斯（英語：Stax Records）等美國唱片公司對其傳播產生了影響。靈魂樂也在世界範圍內流行起來，直接影響了搖滾樂和非洲音樂。[8]

1960年代後期靈魂樂開始頹廢，如Rascals、The Box Tops、Mitch Ryder、Tony Joe White和Roy Head等藝人或樂隊受到一系列的重創。

1970年代時靈魂樂繼續發展，如霍爾與奧茲、Robert Palmer、Average White Band、伯茲·史蓋茲和大衛·鮑伊等樂隊的推進，使演奏風格更加現代化。

1990年代中後期，隨著新靈魂樂（英語：Neo soul）的出現，[9]它再次興起，融合了現代製作元素和嘻哈音樂。

2000年代時，英國歌手艾美·懷絲以低沉的嗓音將靈魂樂融合爵士樂和雷鬼音樂等低混合的風格。

2010年代時，許多著名新生代歌手如愛黛兒、山姆·史密斯等人將靈魂樂加入更多流行音樂或另類搖滾等大眾化商業元素。

白人靈魂樂[編輯]

白人靈魂樂（Blue-Eyed soul） 也稱為藍眼睛靈魂樂，指的是靈魂樂和R&B音樂的演奏以及白人音樂家歌聲的組合。它最初出現在1960年代中期，1964年費城廣播電臺的DJ喬治·伍茲（英語：Georgie Woods）在介紹正義兄弟時，說「這是我藍眼睛的靈魂兄弟，他們是白人歌手。」用打擊樂唱著《失去愛的感覺》成為正義兄弟出項的標誌。
