Nero Burning ROM一般簡稱為Nero，它是Nero AG（原Ahead Software）開發的Microsoft Windows和Linux下的一個流行的光盤製作軟件。[1] 現在這個程序通常作為套裝軟件的一部分，如Nero 7 Premium Reloaded，但仍使用Nero名稱。
一個功能受限版的Nero Burning ROM被命名為Nero Express來發行，主要面向休閒市場。它具有簡單的菜單，主要面向對電腦不太精通的人群。
名稱[編輯]
這個程序的名稱其實是個文字遊戲。[2] 利用光學介質來記錄訊息通常稱為「燒錄」，而壓制的CD通常稱作CD-ROM。羅馬皇帝尼祿（Nero）有時被懷疑為羅馬大火的縱火者。這個雙關語在原德語中更為明顯，德語中「羅馬」（Rome）的德語名稱為「Rom」。這個程序的標誌就是在大火中的羅馬競技場。
Linux版本[編輯]
Template:Infobox Software Linux版本的程序叫做Nero Linux，作為Microsoft Windows的自由「升級」版本於2005年3月發佈。[3] 這個程序複製了大多數Windows版本的特性，使用GTK+圖形工具包。2008年2月26日後可以下載一個試用版本。

- Ripping audio CDs

- 擦除可擦寫光碟
- 使用LightScribe以及LabelFlash技術在光碟上打印
- 連接到在線音樂數據庫Gracenote
映像燒錄[編輯]
Nero支持許多光盤映像格式，包括常見的ISO映像以及Nero專有的NRG格式。根據版本不同，越來越多的格式可能會被原生支持。
要使用更多的格式，特別是無損的FLAC、Wavpack和Shorten，需要安裝附加的程序模塊。這些模塊叫做插件或編解碼器，通常是可以免費獲得的。Nero AG出售一些視頻和專有音頻[5] 插件。
Nero ShowTime[編輯]
這套播放軟件沒有單獨銷售，是隨附在Nero AG公司的其他軟件產品中一同銷售，例如在Nero 7系列的套裝軟件，Nero Digital等。
NeroShow Time的功效及定位類似於Microsoft的Windows Media Player、Apple的QuickTime Player、Real的RealPlayer，用戶多半用其來播放DVD視訊（DVD-Video）影片、MPEG-4或H.264格式的影片。
