介壳虫（英语：scale insect）亦作蚧，为半翅目胸喙亚目介壳虫总科（学名：Coccoidea，又名蚧总科[3]）下所有昆虫的通称，计有23个科，合共8000多个物种，这还未计算已灭绝而只剩下化石的14个科。介壳虫是一类细小的植食性昆虫，有许多种是对于农林业和园艺业危害严重的害虫。
生态[编辑]
介壳虫通常都为植物的寄生虫，透过直接侵入植物的维管束系统来吸取植物的汁液为主食。也有以菌类维生的，如：旌介壳虫科的Newsteadia属。介壳虫各种主类的大小不一：有些可以小至1－2毫米，有的则在五毫米左右。母成虫都被硬壳或鳞片长期固定在植物上，并不能行动。会分泌出蜡来自我防卫，此物质很像鱼类的鳞片。
所有种类的介壳虫都是植食性的，常以多年生植物为寄生主且天敌不多，所以在农业方面被视为害虫，常见的有：粉蚧、软蚧及盾蚧。少见而人类能利用的只有白蜡虫、紫胶虫和洋红虫等。
