海鸭（Mergini）是鸭亚科中的一个族。海鸭中的大多数物种在沿海水域附近过冬，而且它们能够耐受盐水，22个属于海鸭的物种中有20个物种生活在北纬地区。海鸭中的秋沙鸭属以及白秋沙鸭以鱼为食，它们的喙边缘长有能有助于捕获猎物的锯齿。其他海鸭可以潜入水下觅食，并且从海底中捕获软体动物以及甲壳类动物。 [1]
