波西生於美國馬里蘭州的巴爾的摩市[2][3]，母親是位廚師，父親經營一家雪弗蘭專賣店，波西還有一位雙胞胎兄弟，父親為她取「派克」這個男孩子氣的名字據說是為了紀念五六十年代美國的超級名模蘇齊·帕克。

紐約州立大學伯徹斯學院在學期間她自己的室友雪莉·斯蒂琳費爾德[4]分別得到了CBS電視台熱門肥皂劇《As the World Turns》和《Guiding Light》中的角色，1993年理察·林克萊特執導的殘酷青春片《年少輕狂》是波西出演的首部電影，由此也拉開了她在獨立電影界冉冉升起的序幕。波西曾被時代雜誌稱為「獨立電影界的皇后」[5]，九十年代後期出演了超過30部的獨立電影，包括《派對女孩》、《打零工殺時間》、《YES之屋》等等，最後一部中飾演的愛上自己親兄弟的錯亂女子的演技讓她受到評論界的讚許。波西是克里斯多弗·蓋斯特導演的偽紀錄片四部曲《等待古夫曼》（1996）、《愛犬大賽》（2000）、《風載歌行》（2003）、《供您決定》[6]（2006）的御用演員之一，另一位導演霍爾·哈特利對她也是青睞有加，邀其合作《業餘者》、《調情》、《流言》、《傻子亨利》、《國家密碼》等多部作品。
波西還在《驚聲尖叫3》、《電子情書》、《吸引法則》、《貓女樂隊》以及《刀鋒戰士3》等大製作影片中有著配角角色，2006年在《超人歸來》中作為凱文·史派西飾演的大反派的女助手短暫出現[7]，2007年同法國帥哥梅爾維·珀波合作的《蹩腳英語》[8]給予波西很大的發揮空間，她的表現也沒有讓人失望。2008年起波西還將在FOX最新情景喜劇《童年再來》的擔任主角。
