Pango（頁面Template:Sans-serif/fonts.css沒有內容。Παν語）是一個開放原始碼的自由文本布局庫，通過使用HarfBuzz文本塑形庫描繪多語種的文字。[3]全功能文本渲染和跨平台支持在Pango與各平台的API或諸如Uniscribe和FreeType作為文本渲染後端的第三方庫使用時呈現。Pango處理的文本會表現出在不同平台之下運行時的相近效果。

Pango是一種特定用途的文本函式庫，而不是像同樣能被Pango所用的通用圖形渲染庫Cairo只具備最簡單的文本渲染。實際上Cairo技術文檔推薦使用Pango來渲染文本。

Pango的名稱出自希臘語「腳本錯誤：沒有「Lang」這個模塊。」（pan，所有）和日語「腳本錯誤：沒有「Lang」這個模塊。」（go，語言）。[4]

應用[編輯]

Pango已經被整合到多數Linux發行版中，並在Fedora Core 6被用於Firefox網頁瀏覽器和Thunderbird郵件客戶端的文字渲染。雖然在Mozilla的原始碼里並沒有包含Pango，但Fedora Core得到了Mozilla基金會的特別許可[5]。同樣，Debian的Iceweasel、IceDove和IceApe也使用了Pango。

Pango 1.17及更新版本支持使用locl標籤允許同一Unicode碼點的本地化字符的使用。

從1.37.1版開始，Pango添加了更多屬性來提供處理OpenType功能的完整支持。[6][7][8]

2000年1月，GScript和GnomeText計劃合併後命名為Pango。[9][10][11][12][13][14]

Pango 1.0.0 版於2002年3月11日發布。[15][16]
