迈克尔·惠特克·史密斯 （英语：Michael Whitaker Smith；绰号：Smitty，1957年10月7日—）。出生于美国西维吉尼亚州，美国歌手、吉他手、流行歌曲作者和电子键盘弹奏手。他是美国的当代基督教音乐（Contemporary Christian music， CCM）乐坛过去这二十年以来名声最响亮、最具有号召力的人之一。迈克尔曾经夺得三个格莱美奖（Grammy Awards）[1]、一个美国音乐奖和三十六个圣鸽奖 （GMA Dove Award）[1]，还被Keyboard杂志列为摇滚音乐界中最佳键盘手之一[1]。在过去二十四年的音乐生涯中，迈克尔的专辑销量已经超过一千五百万张[1]。其中有二十九首歌曲为冠军歌曲[1]，十六张专辑为金专辑[1]，五张专辑为白金专辑[1]。美国音乐奖颁奖典礼台湾的唱片代理商曾经特别为他加上一个“成人抒情歌坛白马王子”的封号。People杂志曾经评选迈克尔为全世界50位最俊美名人之一的创作歌手[2]。迈克尔最新的专辑《Sovereign》己于2014年5月发行。
出生及成长[编辑]
迈克尔出生于美国西维吉尼亚州。父亲是个炼油厂的工人，母亲是一个宴会筹备人[2]。迈克尔的家境非常普通，并没有多少音乐背景。由于受到父亲的影响，迈克尔曾经加入过未成年的篮球联盟。迈克尔的音乐兴趣源于教会，他在教会内学习了钢琴和随教会合唱团演唱。在十三岁时，迈克尔有一种“强烈的心灵感觉”，这令他成为一个虔诚的的基督徒。迈克尔回忆起：“我在颈上戴着这个大的十字架。对我来说，这是这么的真实。” （"I wore this big cross around my neck," he would recall, "It was very real to me."）[3]迈克尔开始阅读和学习《圣经》，他寻找了一群年纪较老的朋友，一起向耶稣基督分享自己的承诺和承担的义务。那些都是迈克尔开心的往事。[4]
