2016年8月初，經紀公司Jellyfish娛樂透露朴孝信將在下半年推出其第七張正規專輯[2]，隨後在Jellyfish娛樂在8月17日官方聲明證實他已離開公司，但正規七輯仍會如期發行[3]；而相關報導也指出他已經加入新開設的Glove娛樂，成為該公司旗下首位藝人[4]。
9月21日，Glove娛樂官方宣佈朴孝信的正規七輯定名為《I am A Dreamer》，於10月3日推出[5]，專輯的內頁照片與主打曲音樂錄影帶已在8月下旬於古巴拍攝完畢[6]；概念照片則在9月26日於官方Facebook發佈[7]。
