2022年7月22日，官方釋出了第一首單曲《Attention》的音樂錄像，隔天官方宣佈 NewJeans 將於 2022 年 8 月 1 日發行首張同名的細碟。該 EP 已確認包含四首曲目，其中包括《Hype Boy》在內的兩首單曲。[2][3]

2022年7月23日，官方釋出了第二首單曲《Hype Boy》，當天釋出了一個50秒的剪輯，揭示了成員，以及四個額外的特定於每個成員的音樂影片。[4]

製作[編輯]

Gigi、Ylva Dimberg和NewJeans成員Hanni為《Hype Boy》的歌詞作詞，而Dimberg和250則擔任製作人。這首歌用韓文和英文寫成，時長為2分59秒，以E小調且每分鐘100拍的節奏速度作曲。[5]

2022年12月，《滾石》雜誌將《Hype Boy》列為2022年100首最佳歌曲榜單的第24位，強調它憑藉「令人上癮的編舞和朗朗上口的副歌」成為該組合之細碟中的「佼佼者」。[7] 而《時代》雜誌將其評為年度最佳K-POP歌曲之一。[8]
