          F-Droid是一個Android應用程式的軟件資源庫（或應用商店）；其功能類似於Google Play商店，但只包含自由及開放原始碼（FOSS）軟件。應用可從F-Droid網站或直接從F-Droid客戶端應用瀏覽及安裝，F-Droid客戶端應用會自動更新其應用[1][2]。F-Droid不要求用戶註冊帳號。如果應用包含廣告、用戶剖析器，追蹤器或倚賴非自由軟件，會被標記存在「反特徵」（antifeatures）[3][4]。執行F-Droid的伺服器也均使用FOSS軟件，從而允許任何人建立自己的軟件庫[5]。

          2010年，F-Droid由英國電子遊戲設計師Ciaran Gultnieks（英語：Ciaran Gultnieks）建立。客戶端是復刻Aptoide的原始碼[7][8]。該專案現由英格蘭的非盈利機構F-Droid Limited運營[8]。基於Android的完全自由作業系統Replicant很快宣佈使用F-Droid為其預設的應用商店[9][10]。

          支援人權護衛者和活動人士的The Guardian Project於2012年初開始運營他們自己的F-Droid軟件庫[11]。自由軟件基金會歐洲分會於同年在他們的「Free Your Android!」運動中稱讚了F-Droid，提醒人們注意專有軟件的安全及私隱風險[12][13]。F-Droid也被選中為GNU計劃30周年紀念《GNU a Day》活動的一部分，以鼓勵人們使用自由軟件[14]。

          2023年6月被防火長城封鎖[15]。

          專案的範圍[編輯]

          截止2021年2月，相比較於Google Play商店的295萬，F-Droid資源庫包含了至少3,800個應用程式。該計劃包含了幾個次級軟件專案：

          • 從F-Droid資源庫搜尋、下載、查驗及升級Android應用的客戶端；
          • fdroidserver——用於管理已有和新增資源庫的工具。
          • 用於資源庫的基於WordPress的web前端。

          為安裝F-Droid客戶端，用戶需要從官方網站找到APK（安裝檔案），並從Android設置中允許從「未知來源」安裝應用，[16]然後安裝。由於Google Play 開發者分發協定中的反競爭條款，F-Droid客戶端不能通過Google Play商店安裝。[17]

          0.66版中客戶端增加了通過藍牙與其他裝置分享已安裝應用的功能。[18]這個功能可以離線使用並在網狀網絡環境中得到驗證。[19]
