唐納德·麥吉利夫雷·尼科爾（英語：Donald MacGillivray Nicol，1923年2月4日—2003年9月5日），是一位英國拜占庭學學者，也是英國國家學術院院士（FBA）與皇家愛爾蘭學院院士（MRIA）。

生平

尼科爾生於英格蘭漢普郡樸茨茅斯，出身於一個蘇格蘭教會牧師家庭，在國王愛德華八世學校和聖保羅中學接受了古典教育，1941年登記為良心拒服兵役者，1942-1946年在夥伴救援單位中服役，1944-45年，他首次拜訪希臘王國 ，參觀了約阿尼納和邁泰奧拉的修道院。

他隨後在劍橋大學獲得了第一個古典學學位，之後於1949-50年返回希臘，參加雅典英國學會的活動，在此期間，他參觀了阿索斯山，在希利安達里烏修道院度過1949年復活節，並再次訪問邁泰奧拉。1950年，他與瓊·瑪麗·坎貝爾（Joan Mary Campbell）結婚，後生有三子。1952年，他在劍橋大學彭布羅克學院完成了關於伊庇魯斯專制國的博士論文，後成為他的第一本專著《伊庇魯斯專制國》（The Despotate of Epiros），他的導師是史蒂文·朗西曼，二人建立了終身的友誼，共同參加倫敦雅典娜俱樂部。

1960年，他成為皇家愛爾蘭學院院士，1981年成為英國國家學術院院士。因為他在中世紀伊庇魯斯歷史研究中做出的貢獻，希臘阿爾塔（伊庇魯斯專制國的都城）於1990年授予他榮譽市民稱號。1997年，約阿尼納大學授予他榮譽博士學位。2003年，他在劍橋去世。
