Microsoft Servers最早是由[[SQL Server]]、{{tsl|en|SNA Server|}}（現在的{{tsl|en|Host Integration Server|}}）、{{tsl|en|System Management Server|}}、{{tsl|en|Microsoft Mail|}}（現在的[[Exchange Server]]）、{{tsl|en|Microsoft Proxy Server}}（現在的[[ISA Server]]）以及當時的[[網際網路資訊服務|IIS]] Server（當時為1.0版）組成。

其版本演化為：

*1994年下半年— BackOffice 1.0 
:包含Windows NT Server 3.5, SQL Server 4.21a, SNA Server 2.1, SMS 1.0，與Mail Server 3.2. 
*1995年下半年— BackOffice 1.5
